behind it was Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel,

also known as Coco Chanel. In spite of her fame, she

and even worked as a cabaret singer. She opened

placed among the most profitable fashion

El Imperio de la Moda de Chanel es uno de los imperios más glamorosos de todo el mundo y el genio detrás de el fue Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, también conocida como Coco Chanel. A pesar de su fama, ella no siempre soño en llegar a ser una diseñadora tan importante. Antes de ingresar al mundo de la moda ella bailó, intentó ser actriz, vendió calcetines, montó caballos y aún trabajó como una cantante de cabaret. Ella abrió su primer tienda de sombreros en 1909 en París. Con la obsesiva dedicación de Chanel y Etienne Balsan, un playboy quien le financiaría, la tienda llegaría a ser un éxito, y ahora está situada entre las casas de moda más rentables de todos los tiempos.

Sarah Thompson won u$s 3 million on the

national lottery in November 1997. During

that night, while she was waiting

for her husband to come from a soccer match,

she had a party with all

her friends and neighbours. However, some months

later she was not very excited

because she spent most of the

time worrying what to do with the money and

wondering how the neighbours would react

to her family. Although the prize helped

her to pay some debts, she

thinks that it would have been

better if she had not won, because

she was very happy before winning

and now she has new troubles

to deal with.

Sarah Thompson ganó 3 millones de dólares en la lotería nacional en noviembre de 1997. Durante aquella noche, mientras ella estaba esperando a su esposo que viniera de un partido de fútbol, ella tuvo una fiesta con todos sus amigos y vecinos. Sin embargo, algunos meses más tarde ella no estubo muy excitada porque pasó gran parte del tiempo preocupándose por que hacer con el dinero y pensando como sus vecinos reaccionarían con su familia. Aunque el premio le ayudó a pagar algunas deudas, ella piensa que hubiese sido mejor si ella no lo hubiese ganado, porque ella era muy feliz antes de ganar y ahora tiene nuevos problemas para enfrentar.

Hoy te ofrecemos la forma correcta de completar el siguiente ejercicio con los verbos que se encuentran entre paréntesis en su tiempo verbal correspondiente y luego su traducción al español:


One of the most beautiful places over the world

is Machu Pichu. This ancient city

was discovered in 1911 and is

located in the Peruvian Andes. Considered

as the last capital of the Incas this place was

center of much discussion, but many

archeologists consider that the

place was built during the fifteenth

century. The construction worked as a

fortress to protect the Incas from the conquering

Spaniards and neighbouring tribes.

Among the interesting structures in the area, you

can see the Temple of the Sun, the

highest point of the city surrounded by

amazing landscapes and a lot of mysteries.


Uno de los lugares más hermosos del planeta es Machu Picchu. Esta antigua ciudad fue descubierta en 1911 y está ubicada en los Andes Peruanos. Considerada como la última capital de los Incas, este sitio fue centro de mucha discusión, pero muchos arqueólogos consideran que el lugar fue construído durante el siglo XV. La construcción sirvió como fortaleza para proteger a los Incas de los conquistadores españoles y de las tribus vecinas. Entre las estructuras más interesantes de la región, se puede observar el Templo del Sol, el punto más alto de la ciudad, rodeado por sorprendentes paisajes y muchos misterios.

Thanksgiving Day is a very important festival

in North America because it is a national

holiday and people like to celebrate it with

their families. The Thanksgiving Dinner represents

That moment is also

El Día de Acción de Gracias es un festival importante en Norteamérica porque es feriado nacional y a la gente le gusta celebrarlo con sus familias. La cena de Acción de Gracias representa un agradecimiento por las buenas cosas que la gente recibió durante el año que pasó y conmemorar la fiesta de los Padres Peregrinos en Norteamérica en 1621 para celebrar su primer año en Nueva Inglaterra. Ese momento es también una oportunidad para compartir estas cosas con tu familia y amigos. Esta celebración se lleva a cabo el cuarto martes de noviembre.
